Create a sign user
This page details creating a sign user account, but it doesn't configure the sign user properly. See Configuring sign users for more information.
Visit the Manage Signs page and click "Create sign user" at the top.
Enter an email address that a human won't have, such as some_sign@awesign.cse.buffalo.edu.
Enter a first name and last name to identify the sign user in a friendly way. This will be displayed to admins when authenticating a sign. Sign users have relaxed name requirements compared to human users:
- The first and last name must each be between 1 and 32 characters long
- First and last names must be alphanumeric plus underscores and dashes
For consistency, I recommend using the first name "Sign" for all sign users. Then, make the last name something recognizable. E.g., "Sign building_floor_tv1"
Click "Create sign user." You'll be alerted if there were any errors with your input. Otherwise, you'll be presented with a button to manage the new sign user. You can rapidly create multiple sign users from this page.
